This OT willmaintain records and documentation as set forth in the Individual EducationProgram (IEP) and is subject to ongoing student progress monitoring.MinimumQualifications:Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA)with School Occupational Therapist endorsement requiredWashington State license as Occupational Therapist maintainfor the duration of job requiredExcellent oral and writtencommunication skillsSuccessful experience atappropriate grade level preferredExperience and/or training withcultural ethnic and language diversity preferredDesiredSkills: Ability to identify students withphysical disability motor deficit movement dysfunction and/or developmentaldelayAbility to communicate and assistschool personnel public agencies and parents relative to disabilityKnowledge of implementing occupationaltherapy services in keeping with district and state guidelinesKnowledge of an ability in processingtherapy programs as prescribed by state law and consistent with district policyKnowledge of student evaluationprocesses and proceduresEssential Job Functions: This list of essential job functions is notexhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment theemployee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:Provide occupational therapy servicesfor students with identified physical disability motor deficit movementdysfunction and/or developmental delay which interferes with learning in theeducational environmentProgram planning for occupationaltherapy or appropriate options for each Individualized Education Program (IEP)as a member of the Multidisciplinary Educational Team (MDT)Treatment and management of thedisability based upon results of evaluation which may include direct and/orindirect therapy servicesConsultation and education on a formaland informal level with medical and educational professionalsparaprofessionals and parents regarding educational programming and disabilityinformationAdministration of occupational therapyservices within the educational environment (documentation record keepingequipment space requirements supervision of classroom and occupationaltherapy assistants)Responsible for and monitor of theproper fit use and adjustment of specialized equipmentResearch and evaluation for schooloccupational therapy servicesMaintain consistent presence at assigned worksite andregular work hoursProfessionallyinteract with students staff and publicEstablish andmaintain professional contacts with studentsComply with all district policies and proceduresComply with the Code of Professional ConductPerformrelated duties as assignedMarysville School District complies with all federal and Washington State rules and regulations and will provide equal employment opportunity and treatment for all applicants and staff in recruitment hiring retention assignment transfer promotion and training.
