Maintain accurate student and caseload records and information Medicaid logs and bill back data. Participate in IEPs. Evaluate students for disabilities and provide appropriate written reports. Provide liaison with staff parents and agencies. Serve in a highly flexible manner dependent upon the stated needs and requests of the constituent schooldistricts. Keep local school administration informed as to the status of students on caseload. Assist families of students on caseload through home call and contacts in understanding students occupationaltherapy needs in relation to educational goals. Assist teacher and educational staff in acquiring special materials equipment and therapeutic techniques thatwill contribute to the education of the student(s). QUALIFICATIONS: Must have full or be able to obtain temporary approval under Michigan Department of Education Rules(340.1792) Licensure certification or approval of supportive professional personnel. Experience evaluating and treating individuals with neurological impairments is preferred. Knowledge of typical and atypical developmental patterns is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to utilize appropriate demeanor conduct and grooming when working with clients and staff includingproper telephone etiquette. Must have conflict resolution skills. Leadership skills to work effectively with staff school administrators and outside agencies in the delivery ofspecial education services. Ability to function in a total organizational context. Ability to keep all student parent and staff information confidential. Ability to work in a site-based decision-making system that utilizes teams and collaborative decision-makingprocesses. Ability and/or willingness to learn and utilize basic keyboarding computer skills. Willingness to receive additional training to improve job skills. Must have dependable transportation. Must have good references. Must have a good attendance record. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
