Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur office needs a friendly and organized Medical Office Specialist to keep our patient schedule running smoothly. In this role, you will greet and check patients in when they arrive, collect insurance information, retrieve medical records, file patient forms, answer phones, and schedule appointments. After verifying insurance coverage, you will be responsible for collecting co-pays and documenting payments in our system. As the patients leave, you will also make sure they have scheduled any necessary follow-up appointments. Your goal will be to provide excellent customer service to our patients.Duties and Responsibilities:Greet patients as they arriveCheck patients into the system and obtain updated contact information and insurance cardsVerify coverage and collect co-paysAnswer phonesSchedule appointmentsFile and organize patient recordsRequirements and Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalentAt least one year of experience in a medical office (preferred)Knowledge of medical terminologyProficient with basic computer programsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAttention to detailThe ability to pass a background check and drug test
