This role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in their territory. The MSL is an established field-based professional with extensive scientificclinicaland therapeutic areaexpertiseresponsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZenecas oncology marketed products new indications for current products and compounds in development.WhatyoulldoAct as the local medical leader responsible for developing a tailored strategy to meet the AZ USMA priorities in the disease area as well as the local specificities and patient needs.Develop strong working relationships in different external business settings (e.g.academia hospitals managed markets private practices)Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists and key members of theMDT.Lead peer to peer scientific/medical interactionsGather insights on the treatment landscape evolving healthcare environment and practice barrier tooptimaltreatment and patient care or opportunities to improve outcomes of patients with cancerDiscuss with KOLs data and educational gaps to ensure adequate use of our medicines and to inform our R&D strategy to address patient needsStay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.Collaborate withClinops on trials from feasibility to executionMinimum QualificationsAdvanced scientific degree(i.e.PharmD MD/DO PhDPAor NP) in a relevant health science or clinical disciplineAbility to express ideas clearly in written documentation one-on-one conversations and in small group dialoguesAbility to navigate within amatrixialenvironmentAbility to navigate within amatrixialenvironment0-2 years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experienceDemonstratedexpertisein discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiencesStrong understanding of clinical study design and protocolsBasic understanding of the Healthcare system clinical trialmethodologystatisticsand regulatory environmentExcellent project management abilityAbility to travel (40-60% by cartrainand plane domestic)Preferred QualificationsDoctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical disciplineMSL experienceOncology experienceDemonstratedexpertisein delivering customer-related outcomes in targeted field/territoryDemonstrated ability toimpactMedical Affairs and MSL strategies on a regional levelWhy AstraZenecaAt AstraZeneca when we see an opportunity for change we seize it and make it happen because anyopportunityno matter how small can be the start of something big.
