The Opportunity:In this role you will report to the supervisor of site services and will work closely with the Avantors Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.Hourly Rate:$25 - 28Shift:Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pmLocation:Fully onsite - San Diego CABenefits:Health and Wellness: Medical Dental Vision and Wellness programs (eligible for medical coverage on day 1)Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) Company paid holidays Choice holidays etc.Financial Well Being: Spending Accounts: Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Health Savings Accounts (HSA) commuter benefits 401(k) tuition assistance employee stock purchase plan discountAdded Protection Coverage: To include critical illness hospital indemnity accident legal identity theft protection pet auto and home insuranceRecognition: Celebrate your peers and earn points to redeem on gifts and productsWhat were looking forEducation:High School diploma or GED is required; a 2-year technical degree or related experience is preferred.Experience:2 years equivalent experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer serviceCollaboration Tool:Microsoft Office Suite experienceSpill containment training IATA DOT IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plusCross-referencing and inside sales experience a plusKnowledge of scientific products and services is a plusConform to all customer requirements for background checks health and safety issues securitySolid understanding and experience in either shipping inventory or purchasingExcellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can-do attitudeHigh regard for safety quality and adherence to protocols policies and proceduresAbility to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking; prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesMust be able to lift up to 50lbsHow you will thrive and create an impactAvantors Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma pharmaceutical educational industrial and high-tech industries with customizable flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.In this role you willManage inventory operations including inventory turnover conducting cycle counts and supporting annual physical inventories.Perform purchasing-related tasks such as managing backorders expediting shipments coordinating direct factory and third-party orders and resolving invoice or pricing discrepancies.Process inventory requests and coordinate material movement ensuring accuracy and compliance.Coordinate non-GMP media and buffer preparation ensuring accuracy and compliance.Manage laboratory instruments (pipettes balances pH meters glassware washers etc.) maintenance and calibration checks.Manage glass-wash operations and inventory controls.Provide daily customer service support maintaining clear communication with clients regarding inventory status and needs.Handle order entry maintain performance metrics and track cost-saving initiatives.Operate basic warehouse equipment and perform equipment inspections.Safely manage hazardous materials and ensure compliance with shipping and packaging regulations.Serve as a liaison with customer contacts including purchasing directors facility managers and laboratory leadership.Utilize multiple systems (e.g. SAP Citrix Avantor Inventory Management Systems ChemSW and customer-specific platforms) to fulfill job duties.Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
