Job Title: Open Rank Professor, 9 Month Salaried (Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at the Florida A&M University - Florida State University College of Engineering) Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 61005 Department The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at the Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing. Responsibilities Successful candidates are expected to develop research programs that are internationally recognized with significant and sustained funding, incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across campus, and demonstrate a strong commitment to engineering education. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervising master’s and doctoral students, and participate in service activities within the department, college, universities and profession. Qualifications Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and demonstrate documented potential for outstanding research. Applications from all materials and manufacturing areas are welcome. Areas of particular interest include advanced manufacturing for metal, ceramic, semiconductor, composite, and biomaterials, and nanomaterials and smart materials. Candidates with strong backgrounds in materials and processing innovation with applications to other manufacturing areas will also be considered.Helpful The IME Department currently has 22 faculty, 41 PhD students, 118 MS students, and 160 undergraduate students, and an average annual research expenditure of $5.5M for the last three years. The two universities and outstanding research facilities in the affiliated research buildings/centers provide opportunities for collaboration with faculty in Computer Science, Scientific Computing, Statistics, High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI), Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP), the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS), National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL), and FSU College of Medicine.Contact Info Any questions about the position should be directed to Dr. Zhibin Yu, Search Committee Chair, at [email protected].
