We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Spine. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.Operating Room Charge Nurse (OR RN) at Hyde Park Surgery CenterJob Summary: As the Operating Room Charge Nurse, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the OR, ensuring the highest quality patient care, promoting team efficiency, and fostering a positive environment. You will act as a clinical resource for staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards. Responsibilities:Coordinate and oversee patient care in the operating roomAct as a mentor and resource for the OR teamAssist in the OR as neededFacilitate communication between surgical staff, anesthesiologists, and other departmentsSupport adherence to safety and infection control protocolsAssist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize OR efficiencyCommunicate with physicians to resolve equipment or instrument issues by coordinating ordering or getting repairs done.Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments that are needed for cases.Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.Preparing and administering annual evaluationsPrepare schedules in the afternoon for next day.Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.QualificationsGraduate of accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferredCurrent Texas RN LicenseBLS, ACLS requiredThree (3) years' experience in intra-operative setting.Previous leadership or charge nurse experienceIndependent decision-making skills.Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Shall be physically able to stand, walk, and maintain varied body motions and positions for long periods of time.Shall be able to move up to 100 lbs.What We OfferAs an organization, one way we care for our communities and each other is by providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes the following, subject to employment status:Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverageLife and AD&D coverageAvailability of short- and long-term disabilityFlexible financial benefits including FSAs and HSAs401(k) and access to retirement planningPaid holidays and vacationWho We AreAt USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
