The Intern will utilize analytical and critical thinking skills to complete project-based work assignments with an emphasis in Operational Analytics.The Application Process: We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible to receive next steps in the application process. ResponsibilitiesPerform data analysis and distribution to provide Company employees with essential performance data. Assist in tracking and reporting of on-time statistics customer service metrics and other performance metrics to help the company meet goals and provide a valuable service to its customers. Prepare daily weekly monthly and ad hoc reporting for senior management Delta Air Lines and other company departments and employees. Develop data mining queries from system databases and statistical data models for comprehensive analysis. Create automated processes where applicable for data extraction report processing and distribution through Tableau SAS Excel or other available programs.Participate in operational meetings when attendance is requested. Provide accurate historical performance trends and forecasts to other operating divisions. Acts in an ethical manner.Concern for Safety - Consistently makes safety and security of self the priority.A continuous learner who identifies and addresses learning needs to advance own performance.Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.QualificationsCurrently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree such as Data Analytics Statistics Data Science or Mathematics with Junior or Senior credit standing at the time of application submission.Above average written and communication skills.Microsoft Office Suite platforms.Effective organizational time management & multi-tasking skillsPrior analytical experience (data analysis/reporting) or database management experience preferred.Knowledge of SQL Python or other programming language preferred but not required.Work Environment & Physical DemandsAbility to work full time (32-40 hours/week) during weekdays with some schedule flexibility if needed.Ability to work and be based in Minneapolis MN; relocation assistance is not available.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business environment.Repetitive motion such as typing.Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling pushing reaching bending standing walking and light lifting of boxes bags files and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
