City : New Carlisle State : Indiana (US-IN) Country : United States (US) Requisition Number: 42833 Job Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing various support functions for operational activities. This role will assist in the daily operations of the facility directed by the Operations leadership team. This person must work and communicate effectively with management to help assure the facility is in a constant state of preparedness to meet schedules and take advantage of opportunities that arise. This includes assisting with many things; inventory control operational cost control and logistics mix & blend including grain conditioning and space allocation preventative maintenance production planning and asset security.Essential Job Functions:Follow all safety procedures and protocols and ensure staff adheres to each accordinglyPrepare daily work schedules and assignments for hourly staffFollow up on all daily assignments to ensure work is being done efficiently and safelyAssist management in developing and executing facility improvementsLearning and understanding all operational job tasks within the elevator and millsAssist operations with maintenance activities striving to learn all pieces of equipment and how to properly maintain eachAssist in scheduling preventative maintenance functions while maintaining a safe and reliable facility in compliance with OSHA grain handling standardsProvide support and leadership to the hourly operations staff ensure their understanding and knowledge of the facilityAid in maintaining the security of the asset to minimize or eliminate exposure to theft property damage vandalism and trespassingLead/coach onsite workers including contractors temps and service providersHelp ensure compliance with all required safety regulatory environmental and company programs including Federal State and Local regulations regarding Occupation Health and Safety Environmental Protection and Operational Permit requirementsOther Job Functions:Provide insight to operations management on hourly employee performanceRecommend process improvements as necessaryAssist with record keeping and documentation on all incidents according to health and safety standardsAssist management with crew development and training as neededQualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:Ability to work and interact well with othersSecondary education in Agriculture Operations Manufacturing or related field preferredStrong organizational communication analytical and problem-solving skillsPositive and self-motivated attitudeFarming background a plusPossible relocation to other facilities for job growth/advancementAbility to work and interact well with othersPrior grain handling or feed experience a plusSpecial Demands:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.Frequently required to stand walk use hands kneel and bend.Exposure to moderate to loud noise within the work environment.Exposure to heavy concentrations of grain dust.Ability to frequently move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.Ability to frequently wear personal protective equipment correctly including respirators fall protection safety glasses hard hat etc.Ability to climb stairs and ladders.Ability to comfortably work at heights of approximately 200 ft.Ability to work in outdoor work environment including various climates weather conditions and inclement weather approximately 80% of the time.Ability to perform all job responsibilities with necessary special demands for up to 8 hours per day.#LI-DK1At Bunge (NYSE: BG) our purpose is to connect farmers to consumers to deliver essential food feed and fuel to the world.
