Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience.Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in financial aid, admission, student recruitment, student services and/or student life in a college or university setting preferred.Duties include, but are not limited to:· Processes awards for financial aid applicants through Ellucian’s Colleague and the Federal Student Aid electronic processing systems to include the review of applications, budgeting, and awarding funds. Provides support in manual awarding processes, budget creation, and reviewing loan histories from the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).· Provides support within Direct Loan program through workflow processing, adjustment requests, budget analysis, determining eligibility, sending communications and reviewing/auditing of various reports.· Provides support within Private loan program through workflow processing, adjustment requests, budget analysis, determining eligibility, sending communications, importing/exporting, and reviewing/auditing various reports.· Supports various financial aid operations through report analysis and auditing internal controls.· Assists with processing of specialized financial aid programs, to include, but not limited to, NCAA, SC state programs, Campus Based aid (College Work Study and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant) and various institutional aid programs.Financial Aid Specialist (AD80/61122325/FTE-S01108P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 04. Salary Range: $33,339.00- $47,509.00. Hours vary depending on office demands. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. Must possess strong organizational skills, relate well with students and family members and work in team and independent environments. Must excel in written and interpersonal communication skills and have strong computer skills, specifically in MS Excel and Word, and the scope to work within more detailed financial aid software programs. Must have the ability to read and effectively interpret policy and regulations; understand priorities and deliver projects on time; cooperation with other departments and adaptability are required.
