Job Description

Job Title: Material Handler III

Location: Milpitas, CA, 95035

Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension)

Pay Rate: XX24.50/Hr. on W2

Shift Timing: 7 am - 3:30 pm

Description:
  • Preferred: Relevant work experience in admin work.
  • Must be knowledgeable in using a computer and working in manufacturing setting
  • Must have S/R experience - will be handling S/R and unloading
  • Preference for forklift experience - site willing to train and certify

Position Summary:
  • Material Handler maintains incoming and outgoing product movement throughout the facility along with document and data entry.

Core RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Responsible for data entry and record keeping of all production documents.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amount of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Use computer to enter records.
  • Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.
  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.
  • Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.
  • Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • Contributes to division results and performance.
  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE-Required: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff.
  • Must be able to read information through warehouse computer software.
  • Preferred: Relevant work experience in admin work.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer
