The position documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.JOB FUNCTIONS Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.Color fundus photographyFluorescein angiographyICG (Indocyanine Green) angiographyOptical coherence tomographyAutomated perimetrySlit lamp photographyExternal photographyOcular motility photographyPerforms supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments documents procedures and uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.Provides patient-centric care.Adheres to University of Miami policies standards and values.Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.Follows best practices of patient safety hand hygiene and infection control.Completes University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy timeliness professionalism and thoroughness.Meets daily productivity goals.Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities.Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.Works evenings and weekends as needed.Performs organizational duties as assigned.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.QUALIFICATIONS Education:High School diploma or equivalentExperience:1 year of relevant experienceKnowledge Skill and Attitudes:Works well with patients of all age groups.Presents a professional appearance.Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills.Completes assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Seeks out instruction in areas that require additional knowledge.Works independently and in a collaborative environment.Displays basic knowledge of ocular anatomy function and motility.Identifies imaging instruments and modalities based on diagnosis.Knowledgeable in computer software for all imaging modalities.Demonstrates core knowledge of standardized imaging protocols based on diagnosis.Proficient in Microsoft Office.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System South Floridas only university-based health system provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
