Join our dynamic team in Albuquerque, NM, where the sun shines 310 days a year! The department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a full-time ophthalmologist with an interest in providing care for our veterans. Ophthalmologist Responsibilities:- Providing routine care such as vision testing and prescribing glasses and contact lenses.- Performing corrective surgery, such as repairing injuries and corneas, and removing cataracts.- Performing advanced surgical procedures, such as keyhole or laser surgery.- Diagnosing and treating eye diseases and injuries.- Managing emergency eye clinics, outpatient clinics, or other specialist eye clinics.- Treating medical disorders that affect the vision through a holistic approach.- Using therapeutic procedures and performing biopsies.Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus):    AuthorizedPay:  Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increasesPaid Time Off:  50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)Retirement:  Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance:    Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure:  1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryCME:  Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)Malpractice:  Free liability protection with tail coverage providedContract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting For additional information on this wonderful opportunity, please feel free to apply, visit USAJOBS or contact our Department of Veteran Affairs physician recruiter listed belowMatthew CorralesWork: (505) 934-0047Email: [email protected] Health AdministrationAlbuquerque, NM 87108-5153
