Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies.About the Role:OPIS a Dow Jones company provides price transparency across the global fuel supply chain including the Spot Wholesale Rack and Retail markets. The OPIS Cloud Operations team supports the OPIS business by ensuring the overall operational performance security and reliability of OPIS cloud environments. The team works closely with the OPIS Product development teams with a focus on high availability and continuous operation resource allocation and monitoring compliance and financial management. It provides guidance defines guardrails and ensures compliance with corporate and business unit as well as industry best practices and standards. The team is responsible for the configuration and management of the operational infrastructure of the OPIS cloud environments including the OPIS database systems for OPIS applications. This role is a part of the OPIS Cloud Operations team working with OPIS Product teams software engineers and database developers. As a Senior Database AdministratorYou Will:Oversee and manage OPIS database systems (MS SQL and IBM DB2) and their infrastructure to ensure optimal performance availability and security.Manage database and database objects design configuration and testing activities to ensure the performance of the databases in support of OPIS applications from development to production.Monitor system health database availability and performance diagnose and resolve technical issues resolve database performance and capacity issues replication and other distributed data issues and implement proactive measures to prevent disruptions.Plan and execute database system housekeeping such as tuning indexing etc. and upgrades data migration and security patches.Design database backup archiving and storage strategy.
