OPS Computer TechnicianJob No: 538007Work Type: Full TimeLocation: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)Categories: Information TechnologyDepartment: 16010300 - LS-CLAS COMPUTINGJob Description Classification Title: OPS Computer TechnicianClassification Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Job Description: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) IT is seeking a Computer Technician to install/image workstations, as well as provide desktop support via office visits, phone, and email to faculty, staff, and graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Individuals applying for this position should have extensive computer hardware and software knowledge. This includes regular assembly and repair of workstations from parts/components, as well as the installation and configuration of operating systems, peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.), and software applications such as Microsoft Windows 11, MacOS, Microsoft Office Suite, Cloud environments such as OneDrive, Dropbox and Google Drive, Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, and more. About CLAS IT: CLAS IT is the computer and networking group for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. We provide email, web space, network file and print sharing, as well as other networking services to over 2,000 users in 30 departments and centers within the college.Expected Salary: The hourly rate is $15.00 - $16.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must display a professional appearance and demeanor, as well as maintain confidentiality of all information entrusted to this position. Must be able to work well in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications: The ability to work quickly and efficiently, multitask, and meet deadlines is critical. Integrity, punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to learn technology quickly, are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to interact with individuals of many different backgrounds. Practical experience with imaging computers and Active Directory is a plus.
