Job Title: OPS Front Desk Office Assistant (CCI Dean's Office) Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Job ID: 61669 Department College of Communication & InformationResponsibilities The Office Assistant (OA) will serve as the first point of contact at the front desk of the College of Communication and Information Dean’s office providing professional, courteous, and efficient service to students, staff, and visitors. This position involves a combination of administrative support, customer service, and basic office management duties. Because this position represents the Dean’s Office, punctuality and reliability are essential. The Office Assistant is expected to arrive on time for scheduled shifts, remain accountable to assigned hours, and communicate proactively. Unexcused lateness or absences are not acceptable.Responsibilities:Assist graduate assistant supervisor in monitoring student staff attendance.Greet and assist visitors in person, via phone, and by email.Respond to general inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member.Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, sending emails, and shredding confidential documents.Assist with special projects, college events, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.Assist with communications, including email correspondence and video board updates.Maintain a clean and organized front desk and reception area.May be required to pick up mail from sites on campus..Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled student.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Professional demeanor and customer service mindset.Ability to multitask and work independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn can substitute for experience.University Information One of the nation's elite research universities, Florida State University preserves, expands, and disseminates knowledge in the sciences, technology, arts, humanities, and professions, while embracing a philosophy of learning strongly rooted in the traditions of the liberal arts and critical thinking.
