OPS Research AssistantJob No: 538112Work Type: Full TimeLocation: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)Categories: Biology/Life Science, Grant or Research Administration, Veterinary Medicine/Animal CareDepartment: 28100000 - VM-INFECT DISEASE & IMMUNOLOGYJob Description Classification Title: OPS Research AssistantClassification Minimum Requirements: BS, MS or PhD in life sciences At least two of the following: mouse handling, primary cell culture, or flow cytometryJob Description: Responsibilities Rodent colony support, genotyping, tissue processing, and sample logistics Primary cell isolation, culture, viability and functional assays Flow cytometry setup, staining, acquisition, and preliminary analysis Inventory, ordering, and basic equipment maintenance Compliance support, IACUC and biosafety documentation, data entry into shared trackers Meticulous record-keeping in electronic lab notebooks Training and growth Structured onboarding, SOPs, and competency checklists Opportunities to present data, co-author manuscripts, and learn new methodsExpected Salary: $23.95 - $28.26 /hourRequired Qualifications: BS, MS or PhD in life sciences At least two of the following: mouse handling, primary cell culture, or flow cytometryPreferred: RNA extraction, qPCR, or library prep experience Basic scripting in R or Python, or willingness to learn Prior experience in immunology or reproductive biology CRISPR/CAS9 gene editing Strong attention to detail, time management, and communicationSpecial Instructions to Applicants: In order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.
