Job Description

Job Title: Orthopedic TechnologistPay: $35 Per HourShift: 7a-7p Mon Thur Fri; Weekend and Holidays offLocation: Rancho Mirage CASchedule: Temp to HireJob Duties:Assists the orthopedic physician/PA with patient care including casting splinting care of casts/splints/external fixators and inpatient intake rooming charting/documentation etc.Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violationsOperates according to all policies and procedures demonstrating competency and knowledge of the clinic environmentAssist the physician with procedures; anticipate the physicians needs and procure appropriate supplies before the start of the procedure.Maintains orderly and appropriately stocked treatment area and exam roomsAssists with putting away supplies and room turnoverApplies orthopedic devices (i.e. casts splints braces) to patients ranging in age from infant to geriatric.Accepts responsibilities only within the scope of practiceAnswers phone messages and returns patient calls during the same business dayObtains patient history and prep physician as requestedPerforms removal of sutures or staples; changes dressings; schedules testsLogs nurse notes and medication refills in patient chartsAssists with appropriately managing patient flowCollects documentation for surgery orders consents etc.Prepare surgery charts for the doctor and charts for the clinic scan patient recordsProcess DME applications if the DME Coordinator is not availableKeeps current with new techniques and equipment through participation in continuing educationPerforms other duties as assignedSkills & QualificationsAbility to effectively communicate in a positive and professional mannerAbility to operate general office equipment (i.e. computer printer scanner telephone etc.)Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlinesCritical thinking skillsWritten and verbal communication skillsRequired: Orthopedic Tech Certification; American Heart Association BLSPreferred: Orthopedic experienceRequired: High school diploma GED or higher-level degreeXPDEL Inc. is committed to an inclusive workplace that does not discriminate against racenationality religion age marital status physical or mental disability sexual orientation gender orgender identity.
