The ideal candidate has hands-on underground fiber construction knowledge, crew leadership experience, and a positive, charismatic personality. This role involves delivering both classroom and field-based training on fiber installation, safety practices, and proper equipment operation.Key Responsibilities:Conduct hands-on and classroom training on underground fiber installation (trenching, plowing, boring, conduit placement, fiber pulling/blowing)Train employees on safe and effective operation of heavy equipment (HDD rigs, trenchers, plows, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, vacuum excavators)Teach proper equipment setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection proceduresInstruct on the use of hand and power tools for fiber installation (locators, duct cutters, cable blowers, fiber test equipment)Train crews on reading OSP construction prints, conduit maps, and fiber routing documentationEmphasize safety compliance, jobsite setup, and adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company policiesDevelop training manuals, checklists, and certification standardsEvaluate trainee skills through observation, testing, and ongoing reviewCollaborate with field leadership and safety teams to identify training needs and conduct refresher sessionsPerform site audits to ensure proper procedures and safety standards are appliedQualifications:5+ years of underground OSP fiber construction experience, including conduit installation, boring/plowing, and fiber placementHands-on knowledge of OSP equipment and field safety protocolsPM, CM, or crew lead experience in OSP projectsExcellent communication, mentoring, and presentation skillsPositive, energetic, and personable — charisma is criticalComfortable leading small groups and mentoring junior techs
