DescriptionHelp us foster population youth mental and behavioral health! The Department of Pediatrics at UVA Health School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty psychologist in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health to provide integrated behavioral health services in general pediatrics. Rank, track and salary will be commensurate with experience. The psychologist will join the team at one of the UVA Health Children’s general pediatrics clinics, specifically Orange or Northridge.Responsibilities will include:Collaborating with psychologists and pediatricians across all three general pediatric clinics and the Teen and Young Adult Health Center to develop and implement a robust integrated primary care program for patient populations in Charlottesville and surrounding communities. Screening and assessment of mental health concerns in the primary care settingConducting brief, targeted behavioral health interventions in the primary care settingProviding consultation to medical and interprofessional teamsTeaching medical fellows, residents, and medical studentsParticipation in departmental and health system committees and continuing education offeringsUVA Health Children’s and UVA Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health serve a broad spectrum of children and families. We are especially interested in candidates who will strengthen our commitment to doing this work well for our patients, learners, and colleagues. Successful candidates must possess a PhD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program, have completed an APA-accredited internship, be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia, and be skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment. Candidates must have training in clinical child and pediatric psychology, and post-doctoral experience in pediatric integrated primary care is preferred.UVA Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health provides clinical service for the broader Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children’s Hospital. The Section currently is comprised of eleven pediatric and child clinical psychologists and is rapidly expanding. The psychologists work closely with pediatrician colleagues, fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, and multi-disciplined allied health staff. The Department of Pediatrics is an extremely collegial and collaborative department, and our pediatric psychologists and pediatrician colleagues have outstanding working relationships with providers in the community as well as with other pediatric subspecialists and colleagues in other areas of the UVA Health System.The University of Virginia Medical Center and Children's Hospital are located adjacent to the main university grounds.
