Job Description

About the Role



The Therapist will counsel individuals and groups to help clients navigate their path to recovery. The Therapist will help individuals engage in a program of recovery, wellness, and mental health stability.



Responsibilities



  • Direct counseling activities in accordance with the directions from the Director of Outpatient Services or designee.
  • Coordinates substance use treatment services with the Chief Clinical Officer or designee.
  • Completes duties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Reports all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect to HHSC as set forth by Texas Administrative Code §448.
  • Ensures that all records are accurate, timely, and available upon request for HHSC.
  • Provide information and referral services.
  • Trains, or causes to be trained, staff, volunteers, and students under supervision that are part of an internship from a university or licensing degree program.
  • Ensures that all relevant information is provided to the client, the client's parents, or the managing conservator on a regular basis.
  • Coordinates with the Chief Clinical Officer to ensure consistency of treatment.
  • Conducts intake, screening, and assessment for potential and current clients.
  • Develop client treatment plans.
  • Conduct discharge summaries and discharge plans for clients.
  • Facilitates clinical groups and client lectures.
  • Responsible for client case management issues as they may relate to the delivery of substance abuse treatment.
  • Comply with caseload expectations and clinical staffing expectations.
  • Participate in marketing activities as coordinated with the Director of Professional and Community Relations.
  • Manage general documentation of client records on caseload.
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled and as needed.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and protect the client’s rights.



Qualifications



  • Must be licensed by the State of Texas as an LPC, LPCA-A, LCSW, LMSW, LCDC, or LMFT.
  • Education commensurate with licensure, prefer a master’s degree.
  • At least one year of experience working in substance use treatment is highly preferred.



Required Skills



  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, long correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write complex correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to navigate a computer and agency electronic medical record software.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete and abstract variables in different situations.
  • Familiar and able to demonstrate knowledge of recovery pathways, models, and concepts.
