Purpose
Provide supervision of work crews engaged in the transport, loading, delivery, set-up, removal, and unloading of various materials, including equipment and salvage items. Responsible for job site supervision of a work crew to accomplish assigned tasks to ensure safety for people and property.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and assist a team of materials handlers in safely and efficiently relocating various materials across campus locations based on information received through the electronic work order software, UT Works.
* Drive UT-owned vehicles, including box trucks, safely in a university environment. Operate power and manual warehouse equipment to relocate various materials.
* Communicate effectively with the Events and Moving Services team, leadership, and customers in a clear and professional manner. Adapt to changing needs and unexpected circumstances with a positive attitude. Respond to client issues.
* Read and update work orders within the electronic work order software, UT Works, to ensure current and accurate data is available to the EMS team and client.
* Assist with lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying large items while actively monitoring the environment for safety. Assemble furniture when required.
* Ensure compliance with all mandatory safety training requirements. Adhere to safety and conduct standards at all times. Report any concerns or injuries immediately to the supervisor.
* Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings.
* Other related duties as assigned, including working with other departments within the Campus Operations' portfolio. Occasional overtime is required to support organizational goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Three years of hands-on experience delivering high-quality, daily customer service while working in a moving and storage environment or warehouse, including moving furniture and equipment. Experience in a supervisory capacity. Operational experience with forklift and pallet jack. Possess and maintain a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days of employment.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or graduation from a technical or vocational trade school. Five or more years working in a materials handler position providing direct daily customer service. Effective written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and experience with a work order management system. Experience in a university environment.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
Salary Range
$41,600 + depending on qualifications

Work Shift
* 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Occasional overtime will be required, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
