Paint & Body Technician at ABC Companies
JOB DESCRIPTION
Paint & Body Technician
This position is responsible for the quality and productivity of assigned tasks in the Paint and Body department. Tasks include the preparation, application and finish coats on all products passing through the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Sand, mask, prime, and paint surfaces, ensuring proper paint blending and quality control.
- Perform body repairs and filling prior to painting as required
- Apply multiple coats of base coat, clear coat, finish coat, striping as required
- Comply with all state & federal regulations applicable to the classification including OSHA, EPA & DOT
- Adheres to all ABC policies and Safety policies and procedures
- Experience with BASF, PPG & DuPont applications
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and the work area to meet company standards.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years previous paint and body experience
- Familiar with pressurized air purifying systems, respirators, ladder and scaffolding safety and material handling safety
- Knowledge of MSDS
- Employee must possess the tools necessary to complete assigned responsibilities
- Proficient in using hand tools, welding equipment, frame machines, and paint spray guns.
Skills:
- Ability to match paint colors exactly and ensure a flawless, smooth finish.
- Requires good organizational skills to include the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and complete assignments within expected time frames Professional demeanor and excellent organizational skills
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a self-starter and possess a positive attitude
- Must have good attendance
Physical demands include:
- Capable of standing, bending, and lifting for long periods, often working in a dusty or fume-filled environment.
- Must be able to lift/pull up to 100 lbs.
