JOB DESCRIPTION

Paint Repair Technician

Our client, an industry leader in transportation and vehicle manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated Paint Repair technician to join their team. As a Paint Repair specialist, you will be an integral part of the vehicle finishing department, supporting the maintenance and aesthetic enhancement of light rail vehicles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality, which will enable you to thrive within the organization.

Location: Fort Madison, IA

Pay Range: $21

Shift: 2:10pm - 10:40pm

What's the Job?

  • Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Hand, block, and mechanically sand vehicle shells to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Mask and clean surfaces to promote proper adhesion of paint and coatings.
  • Apply primers and undercoats to vehicles, ensuring durability and appearance.
  • Assist other painters and perform general maintenance of painting equipment.

What's Needed?

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and technical documentation.
  • Basic English communication skills for effective interaction with team members and vendors.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Physical ability to perform sanding, masking, and painting tasks, with safety shoes, glasses, masks, and Tyvex safety suit provided.
  • Possibility of passing a Spirometry and Respiratory fit test.
