Be the difference.Job SummaryAssesses, transports and administers basic and advanced life support treatment to ill and injured persons in accordance with department, system and South Carolina DHEC policies, procedures and standards.Essential FunctionsAll team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values:  Inspire health.  Serve with compassion.  Be the difference.Verifies operational readiness of vehicles and equipment  Maintain cleanliness of MCAS vehicles  Responds to calls received from the Dispatch Center Operates MCAS vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner Assesses, monitors, transports and provides necessary medical treatment  Prepares written documentationAttends staff meetingsPerforms POC testing with approval of AdministrationPerforms other duties as assigned.Supervisory/Management ResponsibilitiesThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.Minimum RequirementsEducation - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned. Completion of Approved Paramedic Training ProgramExperience - One (1) year pre-hospital care experience preferredIn Lieu Of In lieu of a SC Driver's License, a valid driver's license, from a state other than South Carolina, may be accepted if primary residence is not SC. The required active South Carolina AND National Registry EMS certification meets the educational requirements for this role.A Provisional SC Paramedic certification meets education and Paramedic certification requirements but are required to obtain conventional South Carolina certification and NREMT certification before the provisional certification expires.Required Certifications, Registrations, LicensesSC ParamedicSCDL - SC Driver's License: Valid driver's license and an acceptable five-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) ChartBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life SupportACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life SupportPALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required within 90 days of hireNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required within 90 days of hirePHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) - PreferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of patient equip (Vitals, suction, defib) Working knowledge of Cardiac Monitor, Defibrillator, Pulse Oximeter, Non-Invasive BP Monitor, Infusion Pumps, Other EquipmentAbility to demonstrates skill proficiency on an annual basis Ability to maintains Professional Certifications by attending in-service training programs ​Work ShiftLocation5 Medical Park Rd RichlandFacility7001 CorporateDepartment70019061 Talent AcquisitionShare your talent with us!
