Paramedic- Mining Operations at OceanaGold

The Paramedic provides advanced emergency medical care and health support within a mining environment. This role involves responding to on-site medical emergencies stabilizing patients and ensuring safe transport to appropriate medical facilities. The Paramedic also plays a key role in promoting occupational health and safety conducting routine health checks and supporting emergency preparedness programs.Key Responsibilities:Respond promptly to medical emergencies on-site including trauma cardiac and respiratory incidents.Provide advanced life support (ALS) and administer medications as per protocols.Assess and stabilize patients in challenging environments including underground or remote areas.Coordinate patient transport to external healthcare facilities when required.Maintain accurate medical records and comply with regulatory reporting requirements.Conduct routine health assessments for employees and assist with fitness-for-duty evaluations.Support emergency response drills and contribute to site safety initiatives.Ensure medical equipment and supplies are maintained and ready for use.Collaborate with Health & Safety team to identify and mitigate health risks.Qualifications : Education: Accredited Paramedic program completion.Certification: Current Paramedic license; CPR ACLS and trauma certifications required.Experience: Previous experience in industrial or remote settings preferred.Skills:Strong clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure.Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Working Conditions:Exposure to mining environments including underground and remote areas.Physical demands include lifting bending and extended periods of standing.Rotating shifts including nights and weekends.Additional Information : WHATS ON OFFER:Competitive pay with quarterly bonusesComprehensive benefits package including health vision and dental insurance 401K and moreGreat residential location close to Charlotte SC and is located between the mountains and sea.Long service recognitionLiving Our Values recognition programIn-office snack shopPaid training available and professional developmentSupportive work environment with a focus on safety and teamworkAccess to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP) YOU MATTER: OceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
