What you will be doing Assists with purchasing requests including materials, parts, supplies, food, wine equipment and other commodities for MCIAssists with processing shipping and receiving orders of merchandise such as uniforms, knives, food and non-food items for all MCI areas and special eventsOutsources products to all learning culinary labs and storage areasAssists in maintaining inventory control databaseBuilds and stocks carts for labs based on requisitions and restocks par levelsAssists with preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports of purchase transactionsCleans and organizes inventory in kitchen labs, coolers and freezers and receiving and purchasing areasAssists with student colloquiums, cooking demos, student competitions and special culinary eventsPerforms other duties as assignedWhat you need to succeed High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalentKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresAbility to communicate clearly and concise, verbally and in written format to groups and individualAbility to lift up to fifty (50) lbs.Possess effective work practices such as correct storage, handling, use and disposable procedures of various chemicalsAbility to work in high and low temperatures environment and stand for four (4) to five (5) consecutive hours a dayPossess excellent organizational skillAbility to effectively coordinate the workload for various simultaneous tasksAbility to create and maintain records, enter and retrieve large amounts of dataAbility to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignmentsAbility to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staffAdditional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
