Warwick Community School and District VisionThe Warwick Community Elementary School & District are committed to providing an innovative engaging and hands-on education to its students. Through nature-centered place- and project-based learning students study in and about the environment on our 25-acre woodland campus. Students learn to think critically and develop solutions for challenges faced both in Warwick and around the globe particularly those related to the environment and social OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated part-time Reading Interventionist to provide high-quality reading instruction and targeted interventions for elementary students who need additional support in literacy. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with classroom teachers special educators and support staff to design and deliver evidence-based reading instruction aligned with the Science of Reading the University of Florida Literacy Initiative (UFLI) and our districts educational ResponsibilitiesProvide small-group and individual reading instruction targeted to students specific learning needs utilizing proven evidence-based practices such as Orton-Gillingham principles UFLI Foundations lessons SPIRE LIPS Lively Letters Heggarty Wilson and/or other evidence-based materials and and interpret assessments including DIBELS to identify students in need of intervention and monitor their assessment data and design effective intervention and implement lesson plans focused on foundational reading skillsphonemic awareness phonics fluency vocabulary and detailed records of student progress instructional plans and communication with staff and in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and student support team meetings to ensure coordinated literacy effective reading strategies and differentiated instruction for teachers and proactively with parents and caregivers about student growth strategies for support at home and progress towards literacy appropriate integrate literacy instruction with Warwicks nature-based and place-based learning in ongoing professional development related to structured literacy UFLI DIBELS and culturally responsive teaching QualificationsMassachusetts Reading Specialist track record of improving students reading achievement through evidence-based degree in Education Literacy Reading or a related field; Masters degree with the University of Florida Literacy Initiative (UFLI) and foundational reading instruction administering interpreting and using DIBELS data for instructional of structured literacy approaches for students with dyslexia or related QualificationsExperience as a classroom with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and data-driven supporting mixed-age or multi-level learning Skills and AbilitiesDeep understanding of reading development assessment and intervention to collaborate effectively with educators families and support organizational and data management for creative flexible application of literacy strategies across classroom and outdoor to equity inclusion and culturally responsive CharacteristicsEnthusiasm for supporting a community of readers and lifelong -reflective and receptive to feedback for continuous professional demeanor and adherence to ethical punctuality and strong sense of to Warwick Community SchoolAbility to provide reading instruction that aligns with our nature-based place-based and project-based learning to collaborative mixed-age instruction that values student voice and to engage in outdoor literacy and benefitsSalaries and benefits are competitive with local districts and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
