You'll tackle complex financial challenges, streamline processes and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that empower district leadership to make confident decisions. With a hands-on role in shaping business office operations, you'll ensure resources are maximized, compliance standards are met, and schools are positioned for long-term success. The office provides statutory services related to school governing board elections, bond andoverride elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. Assist School Districts with audit services through compliance and trendingFacilitate and act as liaison on matters pertaining to Financial Affairs. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring/auditing contracts and other legal activities, making recommendations of positions on legal actions in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes pertaining to Fiscal IssuesRecommend changes to or amendments to State Fiscal LawsMonitor State and Federal financial management policies and regulations and alerts client school districts to potential problems and/or changesAdvise school district personnel on complex issues concerning Arizona school finance including Uniform Standard Financial Reporting (USFR) accounting procedures, budgeting and reporting requirementsCreate operations and maintenance training manuals for internal and external usersProvide training on software application changes and the effects on client business operations for needs of specific schoolsReconcile the District general ledger cash accounts against funds held with the Maricopa County TreasurerProvide consulting or professional development as needed to ensure Districts are operating efficientlyWorking ConditionsMust possess or have the ability to possess by time of hire a valid Arizona driver's licenseIn an office work environmentRequires travel to various school districts throughout the county, subject to County policies regarding use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County businessSelection ProcedureOnly the most qualified candidates will be consideredConsideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applicationsCandidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profileMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitiveMaricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.Apply Now!
