See why you will love working at NWTC.Department: Academic Excellence - Research & Library ServicesReports To: Supervisor, Library InstructionLOCATION: Green BaySTANDARD HOURS: 20 hours per week. Primarily late morning, afternoons, and some Saturdays. Flexibility required to include other hours, as necessary.STARTING RATE OF PAY: $16.36 per hourPOSITION SUMMARY Answer reference and library-related questions and demonstrate the use of library resources. Provide technology assistance to internal/external patrons online, via phone, and within the library. Circulate/shelve materials and equipment and maintain physical collections.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist students, staff, and community members with just-in-time help on computers, printers, softwarepackages, audio-visual equipment, and internet applications through multiple channels (chat, text,phone, email, and in-person interactions within the library and CyberZone).Maintain the Library circulation desk to include circulating, discharging, and shelving materialsand equipment, updating patron information, and providing other library services, ensuringadherence to library service standards. Open or close the library promptly at designated times.Assist with the communication, circulation, and maintenance of a large collection of laptops andaudio-visual equipment. Take money to add to print balances. Record transactions and helpdetermine hardware or software needs for returned devices.Assist students, staff, and community members with the use of library services and resources, such asthe discovery service/catalogs, electronic books, online videos, e-journals, article databases, andinterlibrary loan services. Provide reference and research assistance through chat, text, phone, emailand in the library.Add new journal issues to the library catalog and route to employees. Perform item catalog changes.Process prints and non-print library materials to prepare them for inclusion in library collections.Maintain order of physical resources and inventory the library collection. Discard older materials per thelibrary's weeding policy.Perform daily and monthly tasks as assigned.Communicate with technology staff and security to provide customer service and halt disruptivebehavior.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCEIntegrated Library System (ILS) circulation tasks (WorldShare preferred), advanced web searching skills,database researching skills, Chat Reference Software, Microsoft 365 (intermediate to advanced skills), andonline course systems (Canvas preferred).**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
