They are known for high-quality advocacy, a collaborative team culture, and providing paralegals with meaningful responsibility on challenging cases.Job DescriptionSupport attorneys on a single, high-profile case from initial filings through trial and post-trial work.Manage case files, deadlines, and calendars; track caseload requirements and billable time.Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and legal articles.Draft and proofread pleadings, discovery responses, motions, correspondence, and hearing/trial materials.Request, organize, and analyze medical and billing records; summarize key findings for attorneys.Assist with deposition preparation, including witness and expert research and exhibit preparation.Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.Handle e-filing in Missouri, Kansas, and federal courts as needed.Provide administrative support related to the case, including proofreading, citation checking, and document organization.Qualifications2+ years of prior legal experience, with a focus on litigation; experience in medical injury, product liability, or wrongful death is strongly preferred.Paralegal or legal assistant background with exposure to complex civil litigation.High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Solid understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation terminology.Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Professional communication skills and comfort working directly with attorneys, clients, and external parties.Why Youll Love Working HereJoin a team that values your input and trusts paralegals with substantive, impactful work.Part-time schedule (20 to 25 hours per week) that still offers exposure to sophisticated litigation and trial work.Opportunity to deepen your expertise in complex medical-related litigation, a highly marketable niche.Collaborative, professional environment where attorneys are experienced mentors and colleagues.Ability to participate in the firms 401k plan, even in a part-time capacity.JPC-503Job Type: Part-timeBenefits:401(k)
