Part Time Mental Health Therapist at Connected Care Family Counseling
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is ideal for an Associate Clinician (AMFT, ACSW, APPC) who is not yet seasoned in private practice and wants to gain experience in direct services to meet the requirements for licensure in California. Connected Care Family Counseling is focused on providing therapy services from a systemic approach working primarily with children (0-18) and their families. This position is intended for part-time work between 5-15 hours per week. Applicants should be interested in expanding their skills in play therapy approaches, child mental health, family therapy techniques, and implementing current research on parent-child relationships in their work.
Job Responsibilities:
· Schedule and meet with clients regularly to provide mental health counseling
· Establish trust and positive rapport with clients
· Conduct appropriate and ongoing assessments of client needs including safety assessments and plans
· Create individualized treatment plans to address the client’s needs
· Maintain thorough records of client sessions and progress
· Follow all safety protocols and maintain a legal and ethical practice
· Seek supervision weekly and when necessary; consult on all CWS reports
· Stay up to date with BBS requirements and trainings
· Develop your own marketing strategies—Connected Care Family Counseling will provide strategies, guidance, and referrals
· Follow the Employee Handbook and Protocols
Work Hours:
· Maintain an active caseload of 5-15 client hours per week
· Engage in weekly supervision (1 unit of supervision for every 10 direct client hours)
· Attend the monthly staff meeting
Educational Requirements:
· Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other related fields from an accredited program
· Must be currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an APC, ASW, or AMFT
· Must have a minimum of 500 hours of direct therapy services, preferably some experience with children and families
Other Requirements:
· Interest in working with children and families from a systemic perspective
· Exploring or interested in earning the Association for Play Therapy credential
· Flexible work schedule
· Open to feedback and willingness to implement feedback from supervision
· No previous sanctions against BBS registration
