We are accepting early interest from qualified candidates in preparation for upcoming hiring needs.Part-Time Prep and Production CookLocation: St. Louis, MO | Job Type: Part-Time | OnsitePay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour (based on experience)Schedule: 20-30 hours/week | Start time may range from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday-FridayNote: Occasional Saturday or Sunday availability may be requested for special events or community outreach. Weekend work is infrequent and scheduled in advance.Join Our Mission-Driven Culinary Team!HOSCO SHIFT INC. is seeking a reliable and skilled Prep and Production Cook to support high-volume food preparation in a fast-paced, community-centered kitchen. This is a part-time, hands-on role perfect for someone who takes pride in producing nutritious meals, follows food safety standards, and enjoys working with a collaborative team committed to food justice and sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare ingredients by cutting, chopping, mixing, and measuring.Execute basic cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, roasting, and frying.Support production of both plant-based and meat-based menu items.Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality.Assist with meal packaging for CSA, catering, and community meal distribution.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen work area.Follow all ServSafe food handling, labeling, storage, and temperature control procedures.Assist with kitchen opening/closing duties and cleaning routines.Participate in occasional off-site events or community service opportunities.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen.Familiarity with food safety and kitchen sanitation protocols required.CertificationsServSafe Food Handler Certification (required or must obtain within 30 days).Hepatitis A vaccination (required).Skills & AttributesReliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.Ability to follow directions, recipes, and prep sheets accurately.Team player with good communication and a collaborative mindset.Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.Work EnvironmentCommercial kitchen setting with exposure to heat, sharp tools, and food allergens.Regular exposure to ovens, grills, refrigeration, and other mechanical kitchen equipment.Occasional participation in outdoor events, food distribution, or pop-up service.Employee Benefits (Part-Time Eligible)Positive and inclusive work environmentHourly pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experienceEmployee discountsProfessional development and training opportunitiesAccess to wellness days and sick payPotential eligibility for benefits depending on weekly hours workedWork Location: Onsite - St. Louis, MORelocation: Must already be in the area or relocate at your own expenseVisa Sponsorship: Not offeredHOSCO SHIFT INC. is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
