The Tutor provides support troubleshooting related software, tutorial creation and live demos when needed. This position diagnoses students’ deficiencies, and assists with assignments.What you will be doing Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needsMonitors student’s progress Attends all tutor trainings and required meetingsProvides information to students via social media, text/chat services, email or telephoneGuides students to use the educational software in the lab facilitiesAssists with the development of assets and the completion of department projectsAttends and monitors department events as neededHelps academically at-risk MAGIC students by giving-one-on-one lessons in problem areas and documents their progressCreates video tutorials to reinforce what MAGIC students learn in classKeeps up with the latest in software development for the department and its usesPerforms other duties as assignedWhat you need to succeed Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution in Animation or Game Development or equivalentKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse populationPossess superior organizational and time management skillsAbility to coordinate with tutors and staff for projects and departmental needsProficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, animation and gaming industry related softwareAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignmentsAbility to stay up to date with the latest software updates and industry trendsPossess strong interpersonal and decision-making skillsAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignmentsAbility to work well in a mult-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staffAdditional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
