Job Description

The Parts Department Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and coordinating cost estimates for Manufactured or Purchased Parts for Whiting Equipment. This position requires working closely with Parts Sales Representatives Parts Department Sr. Manufacturing Engineer and other various Department Engineering Groups.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to Support Parts Sales Representatives researching bills of material drawings and manufacturing requirements to quote current pricing and lead times for original Whiting Equipment. Develop cost effective estimates and establish pricing in accordance with department policies. Maintain standard and consistent selling price needed to support Parts Department goals & margin objectives. Connect with Suppliers to capture competitive costs and lead times for quoting outside material. Assist Parts Department Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to upgrade obsolete components. Support Whiting Equipment Services and work with Manufacturing Shop Personnel to create estimates for equipment rebuilds. Create New Part Numbers in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Work with Parts Department Manager and Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to document Parts Department processes. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsQualifications include: Knowledge and understanding of mechanical manufacturing capabilities. Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus. Experience in researching estimating mechanical component parts and assemblies. Ability to work independently multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings.
