Seahorse NYC is hiring an experienced pastry chef (Hourly) to join our team. We are committed to providing an unparalleled dining experience for our guests and seek a team leader who can positively impact our already thriving business.We are looking for an individual who can be a part of the culinary staff that we have built, who has a passion for pastry. ResponsibilitiesAssist in the planning and development of menus for the hotel, ensuring the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items preparedEnsure that sanitation standards, as set forth by Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulation,s are in compliance, as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchenCommunicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met, as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departmentsWork harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisorsEnsure food quality is up to standards by inspecting and conducting frequent quality checksInspire and motivate the Team members and conduct any team-building activities.Floor presence to demonstrate and develop the pastry Team to contribute to the success of the operationAble to work in different shifts and areas of the pastry kitchen to fulfill business needs and to acquire the knowledge needed to successfully meet the expectations for this role, and be able to grow within the organization.Minimum QualificationsAt least 3 years of Culinary Experience with 1 year of experience in a pastry kitchenProficient in chocolate, bread, and lamination.Must be creative and innovative to ensure the continuous evolution of offeringsA successful candidate will have a flexible schedule and be able to work full-time, weekends, overnight, and holidays. They must also be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States, and having DOH Certification is plus.
