Your leadership will support the mission and operational excellence of our premier dermatopathology client.Why Youll Love Working HereWe offer competitive pay stability and benefits that support your well-being and long-term success:Pay Range: $110000$136000/year DOEHealth Dental & Vision InsuranceHealth Savings Account with $500 company matchGenerous PTO Holiday PayCompany-Paid Life Insurance & Long-Term Disability (FT only)Voluntary Short-Term Disability & Additional Life InsuranceAccident Critical Illness Hospital Indemnity & Cancer Guardian Coverage401(k) with Employer Contribution Profit SharingEmployee Discounts & More!What Youll DoLead Core Lab OperationsOversee daily workflows to ensure accuracy efficiency and regulatory compliance.Anticipate and adjust staffing needs to match volume.Conduct daily lab rounds to monitor operations morale and safety.Triage tasks and troubleshoot challenges to keep everything running smoothly.Inspire & Support a High-Performing TeamLead supervisors and technical staff with clear consistent communication.Provide leadership backup when supervisors are out.Foster a positive professional culture grounded in accountability and collaboration.Coach mentor and guide staff through performance management and daily support.Build Training & Competency ProgramsDevelop training materials SOPs videos and troubleshooting guides.Lead new hire onboarding and ongoing/targeted staff training.Manage technical competency assessments and certification requirements.Support recruiting onboarding and career development initiatives.Oversee Scheduling Timekeeping & PayrollApprove schedules (posted at least two pay periods in advance).Manage PTO approvals while maintaining proper coverage and workflow.Review payroll and timesheets for direct reports and provide backup support as needed.Drive Performance ExcellenceConduct 90-day and annual performance evaluations.Perform biannual technical competency reviews.Support performance improvement plans through documentation monitoring and follow-up.Champion Workflow OptimizationAnalyze and refine workflows to support growth and operational efficiency.Present data-driven recommendations for staffing equipment and process improvements.Assist with equipment selection validation and cost assessments.Ensure Quality & Regulatory ComplianceUphold CLIA HIPAA OSHA and internal quality standards.Oversee incident documentation and root cause analyses.Maintain QC standards instrument performance and SOP integrity.Manage Equipment & Facility OperationsEnsure all equipment is functional safe and well-maintained.Coordinate repairs replacements validations and staining quality.Maintain accurate inventory levels for supplies and reagents.Hands-On Bench SupportPerform bench duties up to 30% of the time during high-volume or staffing shortages to meet turnaround expectations.What You BringAssociates Degree in Biology Chemistry or related field (minimum)HT/HTL (ASCP) certification5 years experience in a high-volume pathology laboratory3 years leadership or supervisory experienceStrong understanding of pathology workflows staining procedures and CLIA requirementsExcellent communication organization and time-management skillsAbility to lead with professionalism positivity and adaptabilityProficiency with LIS EMR systems and Microsoft OfficeAbility to multi-task maintain confidentiality and collaborate effectively across teamsIf youre a dedicated lab leader looking to grow your career we want to hear from you.
