Flexible PRN Opportunity at a Community-Focused Hospital
Ourclient is seeking a PRN Pathologist to join the laboratory team in Chicago, providingPTO coverage for the current staff for 7-8 weeks a year.This opportunity is ideal for a pathologist seekingflexible supplemental coverage while practicing in a collaborative hospitalenvironment.
The selected physician will provide anatomic and clinicalpathology services, including surgical pathology interpretation, grossexamination, and consultation on clinical pathology matters. The idealcandidate will be comfortable working independently and serving as a resourcefor blood bank and transfusion-related questions.

- Typical work hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (dependenton daily caseload)
- 24/7 phone call coverage required when scheduled
- No on-site call responsibilities

Responsibilities:
- Interpret surgical pathology specimens andrender timely diagnoses
- Perform and/or oversee gross examination ofspecimens
- Provide clinical pathology consultation tomedical staff
- Address blood bank and transfusionmedicine-related inquiries
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel andhospital clinicians
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, andaccreditation standards
Qualifications:
- BC/BE in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Active Illinois medical license (or ability toobtain)
- Strong grossing skills required
- Ability to practice independently with minimalsupervision
- Comfortable managing clinical pathology issues,including blood bank and transfusion medicine consultations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
