When it comes to procedural healthcare experience matters.Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is committed to providing better outcomes for our employees!Great Benefits Medical Vision Dental PTO & 401KIndividually Tailored 6-12 Week OrientationOpportunities for AdvancementConsumer discounts through PerksFamily AtmosphereOpportunity for Multi-Unit TrainingFree CEUs through Cornerstone our online training systemWe are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Supervisor like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.What You Will do in this Role:Together with the Revenue Management Director review and revise department policies annually.Direct the daily operations of direct staff under moderate supervision.Ensure proper documentation is being utilized in accordance to hospital HIPAA and governmental regulations.Verify surgical orders for accuracy completeness and compliance with established standards before procedures.Conduct audits of patient registrations to ensure accuracy and completeness.Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures relative to patient access.Assist in answering patient questions about hospital procedures.Ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy Regulations Transactions and Code Sets Regulations and assist in preparing for the implementation of HIPAA Security Regulations.Responsible to properly train employees within the respective areas of supervisory responsibility.Handle incoming and outgoing calls pertaining to patient issues.Manage time and workload efficientlyDemonstrate effective verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate willingness to adjust to changeDemonstrate ability to handle pressure and remain calm in busy situationsDemonstrate commitment to work and consistent job performanceKnowledge of organization and departmental policies and proceduresKnowledge of hospital based-computer systems and applicationsKnowledge of government reimbursement regulations and requirementsSkill in planning organizing delegating and supervisingAbility to take initiative and exercise independent judgment decision- making and problem solvingAbility to work effectively with staff co-workers patients public and external agenciesAbility to be diplomatic and use constructive problem solving techniques when confronting difficult people and/or situationsWhat Qualifications You Will Need:Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GEDAssociates degree preferred but not required.Minimum of one (1) year experience in the following areas: Supervising Patient Registration Customer Service in a healthcare setting and Office related experience.Must be able to multi-taskKnowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding medical terminology.Your Shift: Full Time with Varied Shifts including HolidaysLHSH IncentivesFlexible SchedulingNo mandatory overtimeLubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac orthopedic nephrology urology and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic orthopedic urology and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms 4 fully operating OR rooms 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room 11-day surgery rooms 58 acute care beds spread over three units and 16 cardiac critical care rooms.
