The role supports Patient Care Coordinators with local and interdepartmental issue resolution load-leveling training and reporting. The Patient Care Coordinator II is a member of the care service team and acts as a professional liaison for patients and families care providers as well as other Fred Hutch departments. The role uses critical thinking skills to facilitate and operationalize complex scheduling requests through the heavy use of multiple computer systems.On-Call Per Diem role - Variable Monday through Friday 8a-4:30p - in Downtown South Lake UnionResponsibilitiesPerforms the primary responsibilities of thePatient Care Coordinator IAssist in the management of day-to-day operations and serves as a point of contact to address patient needsPerforms level-loading during planned/unplanned absencesAbility to identify and triage complex issues appropriatelyAssists development of training materials in addition to training and mentoring new staffFirst point of escalation for problem solving issues further escalates to PCC Lead/Supervisor as neededDemonstrates initiative as evidenced by advancing technical skills sharing knowledge with others and taking on more responsibilityAssists with more complex financial clearance process as necessaryCommunicates to the supervisor and fellow PCCs necessary instructions and feedback regarding department planning improvements and processes.QualificationsRequired:High school graduate or equivalentAbility to take applied knowledge and make sound decisions on behalf of the departmentAbility to review work to identify and eliminate errors and omissionsAbility to work in a high pressure deadline oriented and complex health care environmentProficient in utilizing an electronic medical record system and/or an automated scheduling system.Ability to work independently organize and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demandAbility to communicate verbally in person on the phone and in writing in a clear and concise mannerProficient in the use of word processing (MS Word) email and data entry in a Windows-based environmentDemonstrated customer service skillsPreferred:Bachelors degree (BA or BS)Minimum of 2 years of experience in a patient care settingpreferredExperience with Epic or other scheduling and registration softwareThe hourly pay range for this position is from $32.61 to $46.42 which includes theper diem differential and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.On-Call Per Diem role - Variable Monday through Friday 8a-4:30p - in Downtown South Lake UnionThis position is not eligible for H1-B sponsorship at this time.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan an employeeassistanceprogram and paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked).Additional InformationWe are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) Employer.
