Theres never been a better or more exciting time to become a BMC Patient Care Technician.Position:Patient Care TechnicianDepartment:5 West Teaching and InnovationSchedule:40 Hours (Evenings)ABOUT THE Critical Care/Innovation Unit DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: BMCs Teaching Innovation Unit explores nursing model redesign aimed at directing Registered Nurses (RNs) to work to the top of their who are selected for this unit should be prepared to work on innovation teams that pilot measure and evaluate the effectiveness of new technologies and Teaching Innovation Units clinical setting is designed to provide an optimal teaching/learning environment through the collaborative efforts of RN leaders healthcare team members and clinical education. BMCs Teaching Innovation Unit offers a true career-advancing opportunity.POSITION SUMMARY:As a Patient Care Technician in our Critical Care department you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies procedures protocols and standards of practice our Patient Care Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient family and staff needs.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the Critical Care department and their families.Clinical services could include but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs bathing and feeding dressing wounds assisting with hygiene cleaning rooms and linens and emotional support.Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe clean and appropriately equipped environment for patients visitors and staff in the Critical Care dept.Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care dept ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
