Department:ICE NRSL Float Pool - Med/SurgDepartments Website:Summary of Job Duties:Schedule: Full TimeAvailable Shifts: Days-Nights-Alternating Weekends/Holidays-Occasional WeekendsThis posting will be used to fill multiple positionsThe Patient Care Technician (PCT)performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PCT is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in Float Pool.Float Pool: Medical/Surgical and Critical individual Float Pool are units with no physical boundaries but still maintain the integrity of each specialized team. The FP techs have the opportunity to work on all of the medical/surgical and critical care areas.Qualifications:Required: High School Diploma/GED Must haveexcellent communication skills ability to follow oral instructions basic computer skills strong work ethics and accountabilityMust be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height1 year of patient care experience in an acute care settingPreferred: Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsmanResponsibilities:The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s) and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards.
