Shifts Available: Monday - Thursday - 30 hours per week. Shift: 11:30am - 6:00 pm., Friday 11:00am - 5:30pm. Includes Saturday/Holiday Rotations (Typically 1 Saturday per Month). Bilingual Preferred

The Patient Registration Representative receive, greet, and direct the patients upon arrival and provide assistance to the patients. Monitoring their conditions within scope of own position's responsibilities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Receive, greet, and direct patients upon arrival and provide assistance to patients monitoring their conditions within scope of own position's responsibilities.
  2. Note patient's condition and be aware of distress and notify clinical staff as appropriate.
  3. Registers patients upon arrival, ensuring that all demographic information is updated and accurate.
  4. Attends relevant trainings pertaining to Front Desk area.
  5. Calls various insurance companies to verify insurance eligibility and effective date of coverage.
  6. Confirm patient appointments.
  7. Collects co-pay, gives patient receipt and sends collected monies to Finance department.
  8. Has knowledge of use/operation of all office equipment, i.e., telephone system, fax, computer system, copy machine, etc. Refers all malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  9. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to manage and provide the care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  10. Schedules patient visits courteously. Solves scheduling problems, issues and/or concerns utilizing the facility computer system as applicable.
  11. Pre registers and prints out the encounters and labels in preparation for the same day schedules.
  12. Scans all the insurance REVS and insurance cards in the electronic medical records.
  13. Takes all patients photographs for Electronic Medical Records.

Required Knowledge & Skills: Experience in computer data entry required. Excellent typing, telephone and interview skills required. Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese, preferred. Availability to work evening sessions and occasional weekends.

Required Education & Other Credentials: I. Education: High school diploma or GED. One year of business school or equivalent II. Experience: Experience as a medical secretary in a physician practice or community health center III. Software/Hardware: proficient with MS Office, experience with EPIC software (EPIC, eCW).
