Primary (Must-Have):

Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) provides advanced clerical and administrative support within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for managing high patient volumes, coordinating complex scheduling activities, verifying insurance information, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including payment collection and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, and registration information within the CS-Link system.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including complex and multi-service visits such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and laboratory services.
- Monitor daily schedules, identify missed appointments, and facilitate patient rescheduling.
- Verify insurance benefits, determine patient financial responsibility, and coordinate authorization requirements.
- Maintain and update provider schedules while communicating schedule changes effectively.
- Coordinate referrals and authorizations in accordance with healthcare regulations and internal procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical teams to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Retrieve and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical protocols.
- Handle inbound calls professionally, triage messages, and route communications appropriately.
- Participate in department meetings, huddles, and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide administrative and operational support, including occasional courier responsibilities within the facility.
- Follow infection prevention standards and organizational policies at all times.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare administrative experience.
- Experience with patient scheduling and registration processes.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CS-Link or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Previous experience in specialty clinic or hospital environments.
- Familiarity with ACD phone systems and high-volume call handling.
- Experience coordinating referrals and complex appointment scheduling.
- Participation in healthcare quality improvement initiatives.
