Job Description
The Patient Services Representative reflects the mission vision and values of NM adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies procedures guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.Performs customer service functions in the medical practice office. Ensures highest level of customer service is provided to the patients and company representatives over the phone and in person. Performs business office responsibilities.Responsibilities:Greets patients as they enter the office. Obtains required patient information and performs patient registration including verifying insurance information and collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.Obtains and updates patient demographic information and company information from all patients.Answers phone and schedules appointments.Directs and documents patient calls as appropriate.Coordinates scheduling of outside testing for patients.Serves as liaison between patient and practice.Provides back-up for scheduling appointmentsPerforms all aspects of daily work in a manner which contributes to and ensures an environment of patient safety and confidentiality.Completes daily reconciliation report to assure charges have been entered correctlyPulls charts and readies them for the next day appointments; files completed patient charts daily.Files test/procedure results inpatients medical record after physician has signed off on the results.Liaisons with company representatives or potential employees to assure correct services are provided.Reviews Epic chart prior to patient appointments making sure consents are within the past 12 months and the insurance card is current.
