JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

We are seeking a Patient Support & Documentation Specialist to assist patients throughout the full intake and equipment ordering process. This role handles inbound and outbound calls, reviews documentation, verifies insurance, processes orders, and schedules patients for medically necessary equipment. Ideal candidates are patient focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast paced healthcare support environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Communication & Call Handling
  • Respond to incoming calls and emails quickly while meeting service performance targets
  • Make outbound calls to gather missing information, confirm patient details, or follow up on referrals
  • Clearly explain equipment orders, next steps, and patient financial responsibility
  • Provide accurate information about products, services, and support options
Order Entry & Documentation
  • Evaluate referral documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Enter and process patient orders according to established procedures
  • Maintain thorough and accurate call documentation
  • Ensure all forms and records meet compliance standards
Insurance & Authorization
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Identify co pays, co insurance, deductibles, and coverage requirements
  • Obtain pre authorizations when required
  • Submit physician orders to insurance carriers and follow up on pending approvals
Administrative & Support Tasks
  • Track pending orders and ensure timely follow up
  • Route calls to appropriate teams or departments
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of products and services offered
Required Skills & Experience
  • Customer service or call center experience
  • Medical office, patient care, or healthcare support experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with documentation and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage high call volumes and multitask
  • Professional communication and strong problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands on patient care experience
  • Experience with CPAP, respiratory equipment, or DME products
  • Prior insurance verification or healthcare documentation knowledge
Experience Level

Entry Level - training provided; healthcare experience strongly preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kearney, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.
