Payloads Senior Design Engineering ManagerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a Payloads Senior Design Engineering Manager team in North Charleston SC.The Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC) organization is looking for a passionate engaged and qualified Engineering Leader to join our organization inthe role as Senior Manager for IRC South Carolina Design Engineering and IRC Ambassador to the 787 Program. The IRC operates in aProduct Team structure partnering with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Senior Manager counterparts. Authority is given to makestrategic decisions aligned to Organizational direction. This role includes integration across multiple teams and high visibility with bothFabrication and Airplane Program Leadership. The role will be leading a team that has design responsibility for Details AssembliesInstallation and Aftermarket engineering for 787 Furnishings Crew Rests Stowbins Secondary Supports Light Limiting Headers Seals Lighting andStowbin Wiring. The team includes 5 first line managers and approximately 65 Design Engineers and Technical Designers.As a Senior Manager the role includes responsibility for the strategy and vision for the team and overall functional and technical excellenceof the team including initiatives that focus on quality people and delivering results to the 787 Program. The Senior Manager will also beexpected to work with the first line leadership team to promote Engineering Excellence within the team oversee development of critical skillsand succession plans and be actively engaged in continuously supporting and elevating the skill and culture of the organization. Thisposition requires the ability to manage complex technical issues and prioritize multiple competing priorities and objectives. The successfulcandidate will need to develop relationships with the ME and Operations Senior Manager counterparts plus teammates in Supply ChainPP&C Interiors IPT Quality and our Global Workshare Partners. The team currently works in an office environment in the 88-30 building at the NorthCharleston Airport campus with plans to relocate in 2Q26 to the 88-50 IRC South Carolina Site in Ladson SC.Position Responsibilities: Manage employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical &Structural Engineering. Develop and execute integrated departmental plans policies and procedures and provides input on departmental businessand technical strategies goals objectives. Acquire resources for department activities provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes. Manage develop and motivate employees and first-level managers.This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
