We are seeking a Payroll Specialist with expertise in certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys solving complex payroll challenges.

Position: Payroll Specialist
Location: Quincy, WA
Schedule: Full-Time On-site
We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who can manage complex payroll processes in a construction environment, including union payroll administration, prevailing wage compliance, and certified payroll reporting for government contracts.
This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll tax regulations, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, and fringe benefits
Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and regulations
Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements
Review and validate certified payroll reports
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contracts
Ensure accurate worker classifications and fringe benefit allocations
Union Payroll Administration
Calculate and remit union dues, benefits, and contributions
Prepare union reports and coordinate payments to union trust funds
Maintain union rate tables and benefit schedules
Payroll Tax & Compliance
Prepare and reconcile payroll tax filings including 941, 940, and W-2 reporting
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Respond to payroll tax notices and resolve discrepancies
Additional Responsibilities
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
Support internal and external audits
Assist with year-end payroll processes
Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of payroll experience
Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance
Experience processing union payroll
Strong understanding of payroll tax reporting and compliance
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Construction or government contracting payroll experience
Multi-state payroll processing experience
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
