**Job Description:**The role of Medical Director for the pediatric hospitalist practice encompasses the following responsibilities:- Provide oversight for high-risk deliveries.- Conduct emergency room consultations involving pediatric patients.- Manage admissions of low-acuity pediatric cases.- Deliver comprehensive well-newborn care within the hospital setting.- Collaborate with the affiliated Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose for newborns requiring intensive care including coordination of transport when necessary.- Maintain a full-time schedule consisting of twelve 24-hour shifts per month with on-call responsibilities from home.- Support a hospital facility that manages approximately 500 deliveries annually.- Engage within a collaborative work environment welcoming applications from commuting candidates.- This is a permanent full-time position that necessitates residence within the immediate local area.
