Where You'll Practice6-bed PICU with medical and surgical capabilities (no cardiac surgery or transplant program)2-4 patients seen per day with full autonomy handling a patient panelLevel II trauma center with over 100 pediatric trauma admissions per yearEIRMC's PICU is the only one in the region, serving children from Southeastern Idaho, Western Wyoming, and Southern MontanaWhat You Can Expect12, 24-hour shifts per month (not done in house)Onsite rounding, with call taken from homeClosed-unit model with dedicated nursing staff and fully complemented ancillary team including child life specialist, pediatric nutritionist, pediatric-oriented pharmacists, and pediatric physical therapists who participate in daily multidisciplinary roundsResponsibilities include admissions and patient management, consultation with families and referring physiciansSub-specialty support includes pediatric neurology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric hematology/oncology, pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesia, and pediatric ENTGood work/life balance with an emphasis on team building while providing state-of-the-art careStrong, supportive general pediatric and family medicine communityBeyond the PICU, EIRMC offers 318 licensed beds with active adult stroke, heart, trauma surgery services.
